Shocking situation in Gorj County after a 6-year-old boy was allegedly sold to a family from Germany and illegally taken out of the country.

The boy has two siblings who were taken in by DGASPC and are currently in foster care.

Following a visit to Gorj county, the Minister of the Family, Natalia Intotero, spoke about this case and gave assurances “from the Romanian state that that child will have to go home”.

“No matter how much pressure there is from the respective citizen, the foreign citizen, on the Romanian authorities, yes, I can confirm that what happened is terrible and I can assure you from the Romanian state that that child will have to go home. We are already taking all the steps and there is a file instrumented by DIICOT and I want to congratulate them for their professionalism, dedication and involvement, equally.

(…)

I went and visited the child’s siblings who are now in Germany. I made sure they were well taken care of. I actually spent quite a long time talking with the foster assistants, but also with the two younger brothers,” said the Minister of the Family.

DGASPC Gorj had the following message.

“The situation of the minor came to the attention of DGASPC Gorj as a result of the address submitted by the National Authority for the Protection of Children’s Rights and Adoption, in April 2024.

The procedure was immediately started according to the legislation in force, the competent institutions being notified to verify the issues raised and to intervene according to the legal competences (DIICOT).

“The representatives of DGASPC Gorj went to the family’s home together with the representatives of the local authority to evaluate the socio-family situation. It was found after the intervention and discussions with legal representatives that the minor in question is not at home.

It was found that there are still two minors at home, minors who were taken over shortly by the representatives of DGASPC Gorj together with the Police representatives, having instituted a special protection measure for them – emergency placement with professional foster carers.

The representatives of DGASPC Gorj, together with the general director, Mrs. Minister Natalia Intotero, visited the two brothers of the minor at the foster home, having discussions with them.

The two minors follow a psychological counseling program, as well as other medical investigations depending on the identified needs.

We make it clear that after clarifying the legal situation of the minor in Germany, we will intervene in taking him over and establishing a special protection measure”, DGASPC Gorj sent.

Radu Miruță, the deputy of USR Gorj, also had a reaction to this case, who sent the following.

“A 6-year-old child from Gorj, sold for 8,000 RON, disappeared from the Romanian map without any of the many institutions in this country finding out/reacting.

Not the school, not the social assistance, not the sector worker, not the customs officer upon exiting the country.

He was identified by the German authorities, in Germany, who called Romania: hello, colleague, we have identified a trafficked child, is it yours, do you know about him?

It is just another example of the failure of these PSD-PNL people who have been running this country for 30 years. And who every 4 years comes to the electoral campaign to ask for another round of putting incompetents on the buttons,” he writes on Facebook.
