Romanians Florin Arteni and Florin Lehaci won the silver medals in the men’s double sculls on Sunday at the European Rowing Championships in Szeged (Hungary).

Arteni and Lehaci were timed in 07 min 03 sec 88/100, being overtaken by the crew from Great Britain (07:01.54). The podium was completed by Switzerland (07:06.50).

Romania’s tally in Szeged reached five medals, two gold, two silver and one bronze.

On Saturday, Romania won three medals, one gold, one silver and one bronze. The gold of the tricolors was won in the double rowing, light category (Gianina van Groningen and Ionela Cozmiuc), the silver was won in the women’s four row (Mădălina Bereş, Maria Lehaci, Magdalena Rusu and Amalia Bereş), and the bronze in the men’s 8+1 ( Mihăiță Șigănescu, Ciprian Tudosă, Constantin Adam, Mugurel Vasile Semciuc, Florin Arteni, Sergiu Bejan, Ştefan Berariu, Florin Lehaci, Adrian Munteanu).

On Sunday, Ioana Vrînceanu and Roxana Anghel won gold in the women’s double frame, and Florin Arteni and Florin Lehaci took silver in the male double frame.

Romania qualified 12 crews in the medal finals out of the 13 that Szeged sent. On Sunday, the tricolors will start in four A finals, in women’s double rowing, men’s double rowing, women’s single sculls and women’s 8+1.
