It is an investigation of great proportions, after it was now found out that a family from Gorj sold their own child for the sum of 8,000 lei. The buyer is a German citizen, who managed to get the 4-year-old out of the country! How was such a thing possible?

Well, it seems that in Romania any problem is still solved, for the right amount. The German would have used a false notarial power of attorney and, the investigators believe, he would have bribed the notary and also the customs officers to leave the country with the child. The little one has two more brothers, who have now reached the social protection system in Gorj. They come from a poor family, deprived of material possibilities, but apparently of soul as well.

The transaction would have been made as early as December, but the authorities came to the wire recently, because the family in question was being monitored by the DGASPC. When last seen by Child Protection employees, inspectors noticed that one of the children was missing. When they questioned the parents, they revealed that they had sold it since December, for 8,000 lei.

Without thinking, the inspectors took the other two children of the family from the care of their parents, and the case reached the prosecutors from DIICOT, who opened an investigation.

The case also came to the attention of the Minister of the Family, Natalia Intotero, who promised that the Romanian state will do everything necessary “for this child to reach home”, but probably not all in the bosom of the respective family.

“No matter how much pressure there is from the respective citizen, the foreign citizen, on the Romanian authorities, yes, I can confirm that what happened is terrible and I can assure you from the Romanian state that that child will have to go home.

We are already taking all the steps and there is a file instrumented by DIICOT and I want to congratulate them for their professionalism, dedication and involvement, equally“, explained the minister of the family. Now the authorities have to find that child and hope that no harm has come to him.
