NY Mets: Video of Christian Scott picking up first career strikeout

The New York Mets’ Christian Scott blew a fastball past the Rays’ Randy Arozarena for his career strikeout on May 4, 2024, at Tropicana Field.

The New York Mets will head home with a .500 record after their opportunity to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday was washed away by rain.

The Cardinals announced that the final series had been canceled due to storms in the area.

The game will be made up at 5:15 pm on Aug. 5. It will be part of a chaotic part of the Mets’ schedule with a one-day trip to St. Louis jammed between series against the Angels in Anaheim and the Rockies in Denver.

After being swept in three games on the road against the Rays, the Mets finished their road trip with a 2-3 record after taking two games with the Cardinals, 4-3 on Monday, and 7-5 on Tuesday.

With the results, the Mets are 18-18 entering a three-game series against the Braves which begins Friday night at Citi Field.

Jose Quintana had been scheduled to start Wednesday afternoon’s game, while Christian Scott was slated to make his Citi Field debut on Friday. The probable pitchers have yet to be announced for Friday.
