According to official statements, the child was taken out of the country by a German citizen, who would have forged powers of attorney to ensure his illegal transport. There are also accusations that the little boy was sold for 8,000 lei, an alarming situation that triggered a series of investigations both in Romania and in Germany.
“I confirm the fact that there is an intense and very good collaboration with the authorities for social protection in Germany and that on Monday, the president of the National Authority for the Protection of Children’s Rights and Adoption will meet with them and that we are trying to repatriate the minor home as soon as possible.

The child will return to the country safely
Regarding the child’s parents, the minister stated that he had no personal discussions, but focused on ensuring the good care of the children and on facilitating the child’s repatriation process.
“Personally, I did not discuss with the child’s parents. I went yesterday morning and visited the brothers of the minor in question who are currently well cared for by the Romanian state. I tried to spend more time with them to see how does she integrate, if she benefits from psychological counseling. At least the older sister really needs it, from my point of view.
They are fine, they are taken care of, I tried to socialize more with them and make sure that in the future they will benefit from this psychological counseling which is still very important for them”Natalia Intotero also said.
