At the end of March 2024, in the records of the Sibiu County Employment Agency, there were 5,081 unemployed (of which 2,472 women), the unemployment rate being 2.58%, 0.15 pp higher than the value recorded in February 2024 .
Out of the total of 5,081 persons registered in the records of the AJOFM Sibiu, 966 were beneficiaries of unemployment allowance, and 4,115 were unemployed without compensation. As for the place of residence, 3,678 unemployed come from the rural area and 1,403 are from the urban area.
The structure of unemployment by age groups is suggestive as follows:

The unemployed with primary or no education (48.35%) have the highest share in the total number of unemployed registered in the records of AJOFM Sibiu, followed by those with secondary education (22.29%), (11.61%) with professional education, ( 9.66%) with high school and post-high school education and those with higher education are 4.88% of the total registered unemployed.
The structure of the registered unemployed by employability level, established by profiling, is as follows: 1,036 people are very difficult to employ, 2,118 are difficult to employ, 1,805 are medium employable, and 122 are easily employable. The placement in an employability category is carried out as a result of the profiling activity of the persons registered in our records.
