In recent years, at the level of Vaslui County, there has been a significant increase in construction and demolition waste. Thus, a significant increase, of about 131% for the year 2021 and 157% for the year 2022, was found in the amount of waste collected by sanitation operators both from the population and from economic units, compared to the amount collected in reference year.

At the time of drafting the County Waste Management Plan (PJGD) in Vaslui County, no data were made available regarding the generation of construction and demolition waste.

“Thus, when carrying out the PJGD, the estimate of the amount of construction and demolition waste generated was based on the following generation indices: 250 kg/inhabitant x year for the urban environment; 80 kg/inhabitant x year for rural areas”it is stated in the Evaluation Report of the degree of implementation of the County Waste Management Plan in Vaslui County during the 2021-2022 monitoring period.

In the 2021-2022 period, the environmental authorities monitored the County Waste Management Plan in Vaslui County. Both in the urban and in the rural areas, a significant decrease in the collected amounts of household waste was observed. Also, low percentages were recorded in terms of the collection of paper and cardboard waste, plastic, composite waste, etc.
