The press office of IPJ Vrancea:

STUDENT INFORMATION ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE NATIONAL “GREEN WEEK” PROGRAM

Și în această săptămână, polițiștii Biroului Siguranța Școlară din cadrul Inspectoratului de Poliție Județean Vrancea au făcut echipă cu cadrele didactice în cadrul Programului naţional ”Săptămâna Verde”.

The activities of the policemen encouraged dialogue in order to identify the main problems faced by students in the school, social or family environment.

School safety officers talked to students about healthy behaviors in the school environment or in the family. They learned how to identify dangers at any age and what to do to protect life and mental or physical integrity.
The purpose of the interactions was to make students aware of the fact that violence in or outside educational institutions is prohibited and punished according to the law, but also the fact that the effects of violence can be very serious and can negatively influence their lives, even when when they become adults.

Thus, safety line activities adapted to age categories (information sessions, debates, games, contests) were carried out with the aim of raising awareness of the risks, identifying the problems they face and presenting some educational-preventive topics regarding the prevention of carrying or unauthorized use of dangerous objects, bullying, but also informing students about criminal liability, analyzing concrete cases in which children and young people were involved, children’s rights and ways to report unpleasant situations. The students were interested and receptive to the policemen’s messages and recommendations, in which context they formulated questions, having free discussions on these topics.
The beneficiaries of the activities were over 600 students from the College “Al. I. Cuza” from the municipality of Focșani, the High School with Sports Program, the High Schools “Ion Basgan”, “Duiliu Zamfirescu”, “Oana Diana Renea”, Slobozia Ciorăști, Măicănești, Nănești and Kindergartens 2 and 8 from the municipality of Focșani.

Preschoolers and secondary school students were also visited by the police dog “TEM”, which captured their attention with demonstration exercises.

On its anniversary, at the 40th anniversary of its establishment, for the good collaboration on the school safety line, the “Ion Basgan” Secondary School offered the School Safety Bureau the “Star of Gratitude” distinction.

And police officers from prevention together with the gendarmes, they held a practical workshop and an informative-preventive activity at the “Ștefan cel Mare” Secondary School, during which approximately 100 students received useful information on how to drive safely on public roads and reduce the risk of involvement in road events, as pedestrians. The students were reminded of the traffic rules and the importance of approaching a correct behavior, to prevent their involvement in road incidents. The activities took place within the “Tedi Safety School” project.

Another activity of the police officers from the Office of School Safety this week was carried out in the countryside, to the delight of three brothers, students at a secondary school, who take care of each other, watched over most of the time by their grandmother, who she is like a second mother.

In a village on the Milcovului Valley, 12-year-old Maria, 11-year-old Petrică and 10-year-old Adelin do not want to travel during spring break and do not expect gifts from the “Easter Bunny” , but they were overjoyed at the unexpected visit of the police, who found them playing at the end of the bridge to their cottage on the hill. Shy, beautiful, neat, concerned with learning even if the lacks are countless, they managed to smile when they received food, clothing and supplies, suitable for each of them’s age.

On the porch of the house painted in pink, the policemen sat “telling stories” with the students, to find out their worries and fears, but also talked about safety, whether at school or on the street. The three brothers want to finish their studies at any cost and Petrică knows for sure that he will become a policeman.

Although they don’t have a good material situation, the three brothers know how to really appreciate everything they have! We hope that their lives will be blessed with health and many achievements, that they will be “pink” like the house where they live.
