Sorin Moldovan, PNL deputy from Cluj and president of the Commission for Information and Communications Technology participated in an event organized by the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Center on Artificial Intelligence.

In his speech, Sorin Moldovan emphasized the importance of Artificial Intelligence in the IT&C sector as well as in the field of defense. The deputy from Cluj stated that we should not worry about the development of technologies based on Artificial Intelligence.

“Personally, I don’t think we need to worry about the technological evolution and the development of AI-based technologies, but we need to make sure that we keep up with the high speed at which these technologies are evolving. I am sure that the future is full of opportunities generated by Artificial Intelligence”, said the president of the Commission for Information and Communications Technology.

At the same time, Sorin Moldovan also stated that a single point of contact is needed between the state and online platforms, such as Meta, TikTok and Google, to eliminate online deepfake scams.

“We want to make a single point of contact between the state and the big online platforms Meta, TikTok and Google, so that scams are eliminated in a few minutes. For this we need legislation.
We discussed at the working group level to come up with an emergency ordinance (EOG) because we have to hurry”, said Sorin Moldovan, the president of the IT Commission in the Chamber of Deputies, writes hotnews.ro.
