The final tournament of the Billie Jean King Cup will be played in the form of an elimination table, in Seville, between November 12 and 20, the International Tennis Federation (ITF), which manages the competition, announced on Thursday.

“Taking into account the feedback received from the players, captains, fans and televisions, the format of the final tournament of the Billie Jean King Cup 2024 has been changed, replacing the group stage with a direct elimination table,” stated the ITF.

Of the twelve qualified nations, the top four will go directly to the quarter-finals, while the remaining eight will play in the round of 16, according to the new format.

The semi-finals will be played between November 12 and 14, followed by the quarter-finals (November 15-17), semi-finals (November 18 and 19) and the final on November 20.

The draw is scheduled for April 30, at 2 p.m., at the ITF headquarters in London.

Canada, as 2023 world champion, Italy, 2023 world runner-up, host Spain and wild card Czech Republic automatically qualified for the final tournament. They are joined by the eight winners of the 2024 qualifiers – Romania, Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Poland, Slovakia and the USA.
