The village of Oceretîne, located in the Donetsk region, has been devastated by fighting in recent weeks. Drone footage obtained by the AP shows destroyed buildings, smoke billowing from houses and a deserted town.

Russian troops attacked the town with artillery, drones and bombs in an attempt to repel defense forces short of ammunition. The Ukrainian army admitted that the Russians had gained ground in the area, but also assured that the fighting was continuing.

The 3,000 inhabitants of the village of Oceretîne fled the invaders, including a 98-year-old woman who last week walked alone for almost 10 kilometers with the help of a cane until she reached the Ukrainian side of the front line.

According to AP, no building remained intact in this locality. Most of the houses are so damaged that they cannot be repaired. A factory on the outskirts was also badly damaged. Drone footage also shows smoke billowing from several homes and fires in at least two buildings.

On the other hand, Russia has in recent weeks stepped up its attacks on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, in an attempt to destroy its energy infrastructure and terrorize its 1.3 million residents.

According to the governor Oleh Sinehubov, four people were injured in the night from Friday to Saturday as a result of drone attacks. In total, Russia launched 13 Shahed drones in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions between Friday night and Saturday, all of which were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.

Russia also bombed Kharkiv on Friday, destroying residential buildings and causing a fire. An 82-year-old woman was killed and two men injured.

In parallel, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed early Saturday that its anti-aircraft forces had shot down four ATACMS missiles fired by Ukrainians at the Crimean Peninsula, annexed by Moscow in March 2014. Moscow did not provide further details, while Kiev did not comment on the claim. .

According to US officials, Ukraine secretly received long-range ATACMS missiles and began using them to attack Russian military positions, most recently targeting an air base in Crimea.
