A scandal of great proportions in a town in Dolj, where a female driver stopped in traffic by a police crew was put to the ground right in front of a 2-year-old child. The little girl was in the car with her mother.

The scandal started after the driver was stopped for a routine check. At one point, things degenerated, and the police used tear gas spray and handcuffed the recalcitrant woman. There were two other people in the stopped car, a friend of the driver and her daughter aged only 2 years. Finally, the driver was taken to the station.

“A man complains about the abusive behavior of the policemen, who stopped the car for control. The man says that the woman who was behind the wheel, a 38-year-old driver, needed 6-7 days of medical care after being sprayed tear spray in the face. The man also claims that his 2-year-old daughter also needed medical attention, as did his wife, who was a passenger in this vehicle,” reports Iulia Pop, Observer reporter.

“The incident took place on April 8, in Ostroveni, Dolj county, and the victims have already filed a complaint with the Police and will also file a complaint with IPL Dolj. They claim the abusive use of tear gas spray, the unjustified immobilization of those who were in the amsina, the fact that the body cams were turned off and, more than that, this incident would have seriously affected the child who was in the car. An internal investigation was opened at the level of the Police Inspectorate”, stated Iulia Pop, reporter Observer.
