Characters who have nothing to do with Prahova have literally taken over the county

The former prefect of Prahova, Virgiliu-Daniel Nanu, the president of PSD Prahova, submitted his candidacy for the position of president of the Prahova County Council on Thursday. Nanu resigned from the position of prefect to run, his main opponent in the local elections on June 9 being the president of PNL Prahova, Iulian Dumitrescu, prosecuted for corruption, reports News.ro.

“The PSD Prahova President, Virgiliu-Daniel Nanu, submitted, on Thursday, to the Prahova County Electoral Office, the file with 26,000 signatures of the people of Prahova who support his candidacy for the position of president of the Prahova County Council, as well as the candidacy file, in accordance with the legal provisions”, announces PSD Prahova.

Nanu, former prefect of the county, who resigned from this position in order to be able to run for office, was accompanied to submit his candidacy by social-democratic parliamentarians from Prahova, but also by the mayor of Ploiesti, Andrei Volosevici, and by the mayors of several towns and municipalities in County.

“Prahova must once again belong to the people of Prahoven, to be led by people who know the county in detail, professionals who can come up with clear and feasible proposals for the modernization of every locality in the territory. I rely on the support and the choice of the people of Prahova, who have seen, in the last four years, how characters who have nothing to do with Prahova have literally taken over our county. After June 9, Prahova will return to normal, it will once again belong to the people of Prahova!”, Virgiliu-Daniel Nanu said, through the Prahova PSD press release.

The statements of the PSD candidate for the position of president of the Prahova County Council make direct reference to his main opponent, Iulian Dumitrescu, prosecuted and accused that, after winning the 2020 elections, as president of the Prahova County Council he appointed important positions in the county administration political figures who are people he trusts and whom he brought from Călăraşi county. The most well-known example in this sense is that of Dumitru Tudone, who moved from Călăraşi, where he has his family, to Prahova, to run for the post of county councilor and to hold the position of vice-president of Prahova CJ. After the DNA forbade Dumitrescu to exercise the position of president of CJ Prahova, Tudone took over his duties, currently leading the Prahova County Council.
