Metrorex announces the status of the works on the new Metro Line 6, which will connect the North Station and “Henri Coandă” Otopeni Airport. During this period, the molded walls are executed, which represents an important stage in the design and execution of the resistance structure works for the South Section, Batch 1.1., May 1 – Tokyo.

Metrorex says on its Facebook page that this is a preliminary stage to the excavations with TBMs (Tunnel Boring Machines), the machines that will dig the underground tunnels.

The following HERE images represent a documentary about the execution process of the first segments of molded walls, made at the future stations exhibition and Baneasa Airportby the ALSIM ALARKO-MAKYOL Association, the builder appointed for these works.

Metrorex representatives announce that at the main site organization, near Băneasa Airport, the following were carried out:

  • foundation concreting works, filling and installation of site containers,
  • works for the electrical installation.

At the same time, the following works were also done at the future stations on Highway 6:

  • At the next station Tokyoexcavations, installation of protection tubes and tightness tests were carried out;
  • At the interstation Tokyo – Baneasa Airport continue utility surveys;
  • At the next station Baneasa station survey excavations, excavations, excavations for the guide beam, construction and concreting of the guide beam were carried out;
  • At the interstation Montreal Square – Baneasa Station excavations were carried out for utility surveys;
  • At the next station Montreal Market work was carried out on guide beams and laboratory samples for concrete;
  • At the next station tails excavations, reinforcements, concreting of the guide beams from various axes were carried out and more than 23 linear meters of formwork for the guide beams were installed;
  • At the next stop May 1 – Pajura surveys continued for utility networks;

Metrorex advises drivers that traffic is not restricted on any of the work sections.

Recently, representatives of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), financier, with around 300 million euros, of part of the preparation and implementation of Highway 6, came on a working visit to Bucharest to inspect the project’s status, according to Profit.ro.

Highway 6 will have 12 metro stations

Metro line 6 will have a 14.2 km double track route, on which 12 new trains will run and will include 12 stations:

  • May 1 (existing)
  • The pageant of the Exhibition
  • Montreal Market
  • Baneasa station
  • Baneasa Airport
  • Tokyo (Baneasa shopping complex)
  • Washington,
  • Paris,
  • Brussels,
  • Otopeni,
  • Ion IC Brătianu,
  • Otopeni Airport.

In December 2023, the Ministry of Transport Sorin Grindeanu signed the construction authorization necessary for the design and execution of the resistance structure works on lot 1.1, respectively for the portion of the M6 ​​between 1st May and Tokyo.
