The Red Bull Romaniacs organizers, together with enduro enthusiasts from Sibiu, organized a greening action on the banks of the Cibin river the other day. At the end of the day, they collected dozens of garbage bags, which were taken over by the Soma sanitation company.

“Despite a rainy day, we managed to collect the waste from a fairly large area on the banks of the Cibin, in the Zăvoi-Turnișor area. Thanks to the support from the Romanian Waters National Administration, which maintained a low flow of the river, it was avoided that hundreds of wastes ended up in the water and were then transported downstream.

Dozens of bags were later taken over by Soma to enter the sorting chain”, informed the organizers, in a press release sent on Thursday.

The greening on Monday, April 22, is part of a series of actions that “Enduro for Romania” does, with the aim of reducing the amount of waste from nature.

Last autumn, hundreds of bags of recyclable material were collected from a tributary of the Olt in the Câineni area, Vâlcea county, in an action in which the students of the school in Câinenii Mari were presented with the long-term effect of throwing plastic waste in the nature.
