A commune in Alba, attraction for floaters! The promise of the free garbage collection service, a possible cause of the migratory flow?

75 Romanians chose Galda de Jos as their home in less than 4 months

Modern migratory flows are mainly from the village to the city. That is why it is commendable for a rural locality to register a number of 75 new (floating) residence applications in less than 4 months. It happened in the commune of Galda de Jos, an industrialized commune, it’s true, but which is no different from others in terms of the possibilities of education, entertainment and housing, in general.

For example, in Ciugud communecloser to the municipality of Alba Iulia and as industrialized as Galda de Jos, only 20 requests for residence certificates have been registered since the beginning of the year (floating, 26 if we also take into account the home for the elderly).

And then what would have attracted these 75 people to Galda de Jos? Is it about the promised free household garbage collection service made by the PNL representatives, a few years ago, about which the incumbent mayor Romulus Raica spoke in front of the local councilors, unhappy that the promise is not being fulfilled?

Taking into account the sustained rate at which utility rates are increasing (electricity, natural gas, water, sewerage, telephone, television, etc.), perhaps there are people who have thought of reducing them, at least by not paying for garbage, that maybe , who knows, eventually it will happen.

Of course, threatening to terminate the contract between UAT Galda de Jos and the Alba County Council for hosting the Integrated Waste Management Center, Mayor Raica also spoke of other promises made to the Galda people by the elders of the Alba County Council at the time when they were trying to convince them to accepts the location of the Integrated Waste Management Center in their commune: high royalties for hosting the CMID and moving the headquarters of the company that will operate the CMID to the Galda de Jos commune.

These would have brought good money to the commune’s budget and could have been invested in its development, such as, for example, the completion of the water network in Benic, so that we no longer receive reports to the editorial office that in 5 years from the start of the investment the water is still not flowing at the taps of the locals!

But the promises remained just that, at the promise stage!

However, it seems that there will be a big electoral battle in Galda de Jos. The same group of locals from Benic also tell us that they are collateral victims of this growing electoral tension in Galda de Jos, tension between the current mayor elected on the PNL Alba lists, but whom the PNL no longer wants.
