The body of a young man was found after 10 days in a reservoir in Hunedoara. His brother made the VIDEO discovery

The body of a man who drowned in the reservoir at Sântamaria Orlea, Hunedoara, was brought to the surface after ten days. His brother, along with a firefighter, found him.

The body of a 23-year-old man who drowned in Lake Sântamaria Orlea (video), Hunedoara, was brought to the surface, ten days after his disappearance was reported.

Young man drowned in the reservoir

The man has been missing since Sunday, April 14, when he was allegedly seen by some locals in the reservoir, crying for help, before drowning.

On Sunday and in the following two days, more teams of firefighters and divers searched for him in the waters of the lake near Hațeg.

“The Integrated Dispatch notified the technicians of the upstream hydropower plant, to act accordingly, so as to avoid the increase of the water level downstream, which would endanger the rescuers’ intervention. – transmitted ISU Hunedoara. During the search mission, special devices were used to detect medium and large bodies under water, and divers were also acting. Depending on the state of the weather, the search will be resumed”informs ISU Hunedoara, after the third day of searches.

Found after ten days in Lake Sântamaria Orlea

Firefighters abandoned the search in the following days, but on Wednesday, the young man’s body was found by his brother and an off-duty firefighter.

“The call to the single number for emergency calls, 112, was made by a firefighter from the Hunedoara Detachment, in his free time in Sântămăria Orlea, who met with the victim’s brother and, at his request, went to the place where it was assumed that the man drowned, to check if the water did not bring the body to the surface. This is what happened, so that, following the phone call, two fire crews, from Hunedoara and Totești, moved with a boat and an emergency vehicle, and after the body of the drowned man was brought to shore, it was announced that the police and the Forensic Medicine Service”informed the Hunedoara Emergency Situations Inspectorate.

The reservoir at Sântamaria Orlea was established at the end of the 80s, as part of the system of hydropower facilities on the Râul Mare, but over time it also became a place of recreation for the locals.
