Be careful how you drive on Calea Unirii, in Suceava! Asphalt adhesion, satisfactory –

--

The first results of the roughness tests on Calea Unirii in the municipality of Suceava indicate a satisfactory adhesion of the asphalt, which, however, falls within the limits of legality, according to the representatives of the town hall. Because the results were beyond the limit, the company that asphalted the boulevard, last fall, contested them on the grounds that the procedure was not followed. The drummers complained that they were not present when the tests were done and hired other experts to repeat them. The new tests were done on Thursday morning. The Suceava City Hall requested tests of the roughness of the asphalt on Calea Unirii because there have been several traffic accidents in the area.

The first results of the roughness tests carried out on Calea Unirii in the municipality of Suceava at the end of March indicate a satisfactory adhesion of the asphalt. According to representatives of the town hall, even if the adherence is not great, the results fall within the limits of legality. The tests were done by a company from Neamț county at the request of Suceava town hall.

Being a second-category road, in the state and in the regulations, it says that for a second-category road it must be 70, over 70, but the limit is 70. It’s not great, but it’s satisfactory. The company that executed the asphalting works disputed the test results on the grounds that the procedure was not followed. Suceava City Hall did not invite the builder to attend the test. He requested the taking of new samples, because they were not present at the first samples. And they requested that two representatives from their side be present, a Mr. technical director and the technical representative with the execution.

The asphalt roughness tests on Calea Unirii were redone on Thursday, April 25, by experts contracted by SUCT, which paved the boulevard. The new tests are done by experts from Bucharest. The asphalt on Calea Unirii is being tested in the context in which the number of road accidents, occurring on the road segment between the school group and the central area of the city, increased significantly after the execution of the asphalting works. While the police showed that the main cause of the accidents was speed, the drivers complained that the asphalt was unusually slippery, in conditions of humidity and positive temperatures. The representatives of the town hall have taken a series of measures to prevent the occurrence of road accidents.

The reporter of Intermedia television tried to get a point of view of the company that executed the asphalting works, but he did not succeed.
