May the Risen Lord fill all communities with joy and peace and comfort those in trial. For them, I wish you a happy Easter!” said Pope Francis after the “Queen of Coeli” prayer in St. Peter’s Square.
Pope Francis directed his thoughts to the population of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil, affected by strong floods, where, according to the Brazilian authorities, at least 66 people have died, and over a hundred are missing.
“May the Lord receive the deceased and comfort their families and those who had to leave their homes,” said Pope Francis.
The pope also renewed his call for dialogue for peace in the Middle East and asked the faithful to pray for Ukraine, which “suffers a lot.”
“Please, let us continue to pray for the martyrs and sufferers in Ukraine and also for Palestine and Israel, that peace may come and that the dialogue between them may strengthen and bear good fruit,” said Pope Francis .
