SOCIAL INCLUSION: The first requests for help to pay the rent were approved. The financial support can reach up to 1,400 lei

The Department of Social Assistance Deva has approved the first requests for aid for the payment of rent. The financial support is granted from the local budget and is intended for several categories of vulnerable people or families from the municipality of Deva, who meet the eligibility conditions approved by the Local Council, by Decision no. 432/2022 (available on https://dasdeva.ro, Housing and Associations Section).

Rent assistance is granted for a period of 1-3 years and is paid to the home owner by bank transfer. The financial support aims to prevent the social marginalization of people or families with domicile/residence in the municipality of Deva, who face the absence of minimum socio-economic conditions and are included on the priority list of people entitled to benefit from social housing or ANL.

WHO CAN BENEFIT from help to pay the rent:

– young people up to 35 years old, who come from the residential structures of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Hunedoara

– single persons/families from the records of the Deva Social Assistance Directorate, who, following the social survey, may be classified as socially marginalized persons or at risk of social marginalization

– victims of domestic violence

– young people up to 35 years old, who, although they have a job, do not have sufficient income to rent or purchase a home under market conditions

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for granting financial aid:

– the applicant must have domicile/residence in the municipality of Deva for at least 24 months (with the exception of victims of domestic violence and young people from the residential structures of DGASPC Hunedoara)

– the applicant and the major members of his family do not use a home from the state housing fund, but have taken the necessary steps to be included in the list of persons entitled to benefit from social housing or ANL

– the applicant, a single person, does not own more than one motor vehicle, less than 5 years old, and in the case of a family, its members do not own more than two motor vehicles, less than 5 years old

– the applicant and the major members of his family have no debts to the local budget

The net monthly INCOME up to which rent assistance is granted are established according to the number of people in the family and are related to the value of the Reference Social Index (ISR = 660 lei, currently), as follows:

– 2,640 lei (4 ISR) – for a single person

– 3,762 lei (5.7 ISR) – for a family with 2 people

– 4,356 lei (6.6 ISR) – for a family with 3 people

– 4,950 lei (7.5 ISR) – for a family with 4 people

– 5,544 lei (8.4 ISR) – for a family with 5 people

– 6,138 lei (9.3 ISR) – for a family with 6 people

In the case of families with more than 6 members, 0.5 ISR (330 lei) is added for each person in the family, over the number of 6 people.

The amount of help for the payment of the rent is determined based on points, depending on several criteria regarding the composition of the family, the number of dependent children, the bio/psycho/social situation of the single person/family, the level of education, etc. Depending on the score obtained, the amount of aid can be up to 900 – 1,400 lei, in the first year of awarding, without exceeding the rent provided in the rental contract.

TO REMEMBER! Beneficiaries of aid for the payment of rent who do not have a job at the time this right is granted will only receive financial support for a period of 6 months, from the date of presentation of the rental contract – if they do not provide proof of employment.

The help for the payment of the rent is granted on the basis of an application-declaration on one’s own responsibility, which will be accompanied by supporting documents regarding the earned income, the composition of the family, the level of education, the social situation, the rented house, etc. The documents are submitted to the Deva Social Assistance Directorate (Registry), from Monday to Thursday – between 8:00-16:30 and Friday – between 8:00-14:00.
