Annual General Meeting of the “Solidarity” Association of Pensioners from Gorj County Breaking local news, video news

On Monday, April 22, 2024, at the “Alexandru Ștefulescu” County Museum in Târgu Jiu, the Annual General Meeting of the “Solidarity” Association of Pensioners from Gorj County took place, whose president is Mr. Emil Sgarbură.

The event was attended, as guests, by Mrs. Mircea-Dafinescu Vasiliana – Executive Director of the Gorj County Pension House, Mrs. Carmen-Amalia Făgaș – General Director of the Gorj County Health Insurance House and a small delegation of the Cult of Heroes National Association ” Regina Maria” – Gorj “Tudor Vladimirescu” County Branch (ANCE “RM” Gorj “TV”) consisting of: col. (ret.) Dr. Eng. Walter Loga – president, col. (rtr.) Gigi Bușe – executive secretary and lt. col. (rtr.) Acorn Ovidiu-Gabriel – first vice-president.
In the presence of a few dozen members of this association established last year, Mr. President Emil Sgarbură, who chaired the meeting, presented the Statement of Accounts and the Income and Expenditure Budget for the year 2023, the Activity Plan and the Draft Budget for the year 2024, then the Committee was completed with a vice-president. The Women’s Committee and the Commission of Censors were elected.
During the discussions, the two female directors presented the news in each field, then those in the room asked questions to which they received enlightening answers. It was a very good idea that was appreciated by all, both the guests and the participants.
Mrs. Mircea-Dafinescu Vasiliana spoke about the new Pensions Law saying: “We have an extensive reform of the Pension System, and the new Pensions Law, 360 of November 29, 2023, which will enter into force, in its entirety, from September 1, 2024 aims to bring equity between pensioners based on the principle of contribution. This reform rewards contribution, encourages the birth rate and stimulates the continuation of studies. The principles underlying this law are: uniqueness, contribution, stability, solidarity and equality”. He specified that “until September 2024, two stages will take place. The first is the transition from the current calculation formula to the one imposed by the new law, and all pensioners in payment will receive Pension Decisions based on the new payment algorithm. The second stage is the capitalization of the increases that were not provided for in Law 263/2010, it starts on September 1, 2024 and lasts for 6 months”. He informed the audience about the fact that “we are in an extensive evaluation process that started in 2021, through which all the files of the more than 83 thousand pensioners on the state payroll are entered into the computer, in an electronic application” . He continued with many technical details of pension calculation, answered the questions asked by the pensioners in the room and concluded by saying that “the volume of activity of the Gorj County Pension House is very large, and the law is applied uniformly in Gorj, like in the whole country”.
Mrs. Carmen-Amalia Făgaș said: “Casa de Asigurări de Sănătate Gorj dedicates its entire activity to the service of its insured whose contributions it manages with maximum responsibility, according to the rules in force and represents the insured in the relationship with medical service providers. Health is a right provided by the Constitution. In Romania, the Health Insurance System is based on the principle of solidarity and subsidiarity. Starting with year 2024, and uninsured people have the same rights, in terms of prevention and chronic diseases, as insured people. There are 344,000 people in Gorj county, of which 85,000 are pensioners and about 35,000 are co-insured”. He specified that “Five large categories of services are settled from the Social Health Insurance Fund: Prevention and prophylaxis services (once a year everyone must benefit from a prevention consultation), curative services (awarded with a referral ticket from the doctor of family; except for 63 ailments for which you can go directly to the specialist doctor and are displayed on the CASJ Gorj website), medicines and medical devices, medical care at home and assisted or unassisted medical transport (there are three providers in Gorj), medical services of treatment abroad (on the basis of the European health card)”, then analyzed each one separately. Finally, he answered questions from the pensioners in the hall.
