Woman hit by car in Micro 15. Driver was so drunk he didn’t realize what he did

A man from Satmare was sentenced THIS WEEK to a suspended sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison after injuring a woman in the Micro 15 District of Satu Mare. According to PresaSM informationthe man from Satmare drove the Volkswagen brand car on Careiului street in the municipality of Satu Mare in a state of intoxication (1.08 mg/liter of pure alcohol in exhaled air), and because he did not keep a sufficient lateral distance, he injured a woman who in as a pedestrian, in the absence of the sidewalk, he was driving on the roadway, on the right side of his direction of travel, hitting her from behind, causing traumatic injuries that required 75-80 days of medical care to heal.

Interviewed by the police, the man stated that while he was at his girlfriend’s house, he consumed about a liter of wine. He got behind the wheel of the car and started towards home. When he got to Drumul Careiului, the clogged alley near the block where he lives, a neighbor shouted after him that he had hit a woman.

The car stopped where it stopped and he turned around to find an elderly woman about 50 meters away who was lying face down on the asphalt on the right side of the roadway. Later, the victim arrived at the Emergency Department.

The victim told the police that he went shopping at the Unicarm store in the Micro 15 district. On his way back, he reached the pedestrian alley with car access, given that the alley had no sidewalks and cars were parked on both sides, he drove on the roadway on the right side of his direction of travel. She does not remember the moment of the impact, only that she woke up at UPU Satu Mare, where she was told that she was injured by a car.
