The children start their Easter vacation tomorrow, but those in Suceava already feel like they’re on vacation. It’s Green Week, so the lessons have been replaced with fun activities. Activities that turn out to be lessons that they will really remember. For example, how to protect the environment or how to eat healthier.

From the school benches, the children woke up for the first time in a laboratory. The location was not chosen by chance. At the Faculty of Forestry, students became little gardeners. “The children were challenged to plant a chick in a pot with soil provided by this university. They are very excited, as you can see there, everyone managed to plant. This chick will be taken home, planted and maintained further , respecting all conditions of growth”, said Carmen Adomică, teacher.

“Green Week” will end on April 26, when the Easter holiday begins

The “green week” was also for preschoolers from the kindergarten. A chef taught him how to have a healthy diet, with the help of some colorful plates. In another group, icons, eggs or flowers are planted. All were then sold at a charity fair. “We have a charity fair, where we will make an exhibition with children’s works, which have Easter as their theme, and today we prepared, using reusable materials, namely cardboard plates, according to the strength of the children, because they are of the middle group “, said Apetre Eugenia, educator.

Children do not work in vain. The money collected at the fair will go to needy families. “We made a partnership in this project with the DGASPC, and the families will be given to us by the director of the DGASPC. Every year, the DGASPC tells us exactly what the needs of those families are and the project is in its second edition “, said Maria Teodoreanu, kindergarten director. “Green Week” will end tomorrow, when the Easter holiday begins. Classes will resume on May 8.
