The Olt Social Democratic Party submitted, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, to the Olt County Electoral Office, the candidacies for the position of president of the Olt County Council, respectively the list of county councilors. The event was attended, along with the management team of CJ Olt, PSD Olt parliamentarians (with the exception of Senator Paul Stănescu) and some of the proposed councilors.
Marius Oprescu submitted his candidacy for a new term as president. Also, most of the current county councilors are on the list for CJ Olt and some new names also appear. Two of the councilors who four years ago won the mandate from PNL and joined PSD a few months ago are also on eligible seats: Ion Voicu and Gabriel Nicolescu.
The list of councilors is opened by the president of PSD Olt and acting president of CJ Olt – Marius Oprescu, the next two places being occupied by the two vice-presidents: Virgil Delureanu and Ionuț Ivan. The president of PSD Olt declared that he is starting the journey with a team made up of professionals, people from all fields of activity, “doctors, engineers, experts in European funds, communication experts, union representatives, young enthusiasts all of them”.
“I think we have formed one of the most beautiful and strongest political teams in the country. I hope and believe, in fact, strongly, that this team will be close to the citizens and will succeed in completing these projects that will certainly become reality and will be implemented in the Olt public administration,” said Oprescu.
“I couldn’t say that there are any surprises,” added Oprescu, referring to the 40 names on the list for the County Council.

PSD Olt also published on its official Facebook account the list of proposed county councilors for the 2024-2028 mandate.
“To bring our projects to life, we need dedicated and professional people to run the administration in close connection with the community.
Our team is balanced, integrated and socially involved, from all fields of activity, capable of overcoming all administrative challenges.
We present to you a beautiful and professional team, composed of doctors, teachers, economists, lawyers, engineers, specialists in communication and attracting European funds, experienced people and young enthusiasts, who put the community at the center of their activity”, PSD Olt said.
Investments in renewable energy, ecological transport and efficient energy infrastructure, high-standard health services, rural gas networks and the modernization of road infrastructure to bring new economic opportunities are the main objectives pursued in the next mandate.
“Equally, we are talking about a future in which we invest a lot in young people, in urban development and in caring for the vulnerable categories”, PSD Olt also mentions.
