Starting from April 24, Romania participates for the first time in the Kazakhstan Tourism Fair, presenting destinations such as Constanţa – Mamaia, Eforie, Borşa – Maramureş, announced the general secretary of the Federation of Romanian Hospitality Industry Employers (FPIOR), Corina Martin.

According to the FPIOR representative, who is also the honorary consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Romania, KITF – Tourism Fair in Almaty, Kazakhstan, now in its 22nd edition, brings together exhibitors from many countries, including Italy, Croatia, the United Arab Emirates, the Maldives , Thailand, with an impressive list of hotels and resorts that want to promote themselves.

“We proposed to start promoting ourselves on an extremely important market of tourists, not addressed by Romania so far, and I thank the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Mr. Radu Oprea, as well as my colleagues from the Tourism Consultative Council, who understood the opportunity and importance the presentation of Romanian destinations on the market of Kazakh tourists, at their homes, through the participation of Romania, for the first time, at this fair. (…) I think it is time to approach a niche market and a real opportunity – to attract Kazakh tourists and visitors to holiday destinations and cities in Romania. Businessmen are, in their turn, tourists – but Kazakhs know nothing about Romania and what makes us unique in the world, as a country,” said Corina Martin, through a press release sent on Wednesday.

According to the same surah, the largest foreign investment in Romania has several hundred Kazakh employees in the Petromidia – Năvodari and Vega – Ploiesti refineries. They are visited annually by relatives, families, friends, who then tell about the nature, landscapes, traditions and unique tourist attractions of Romania – including Dracula’s Castle from Bran, Peleş Castle from Sinaia, Transfăgărăşanul, Transylvania, the Danube Delta and the multi-ethnic Dobrogea and rich in the coastal area with diversified resorts and Ana Aslan therapies.

Currently, the Port of Constanta has become a nodal center of major interest in the movement of goods between the Caucasus basin and Western Europe, which has generated a consistent increase in the volume of business trips between Kazakhstan and Romania, and Kazakh officials and businessmen discover with amazement Romania, a country that has never been promoted in Kazakhstan before.

“Constanța – Mamaia, Eforie, but also Borşa, from Maramureş, are present at the Romania Stand. Two reputable hotels from the spa area and two tour operators are also present at the meeting with the Kazakh market. The Federation of Patronages from the Hospitality Industry in Romania and RESTO Constanţa are also here to support the Romanian destinations that they represent and promote, these days, at the fair”, the press release states.
