Marcela Mrejeru is no longer general inspector of the Gorj County School Inspectorate. She was replaced by Mihai Istrate, also a PSD member. Mrejeru was changed following a check by the Ministry of Education, at the request of the former prefect of Gorj, Iulian Popescu.
Istrate is the director of the high school in Țicleni and former sub-prefect of Gorj.
“I was assigned as general school inspector of the Gorj County School Inspectorate. I propose, every time, in whatever position I have been active, to bring a balance in the activity, to go for continuity, to continue the work done by my predecessors”, said Mihai Istrate, on Radio Infinit.
Istrate announced that he is going to hold a press conference to announce what the managerial program for the next period will consist of. He wants to smooth out the conflicts arising in certain localities: “I wish that at the level of Gorj county education there should be a state of normality, peace and balance. The common desire of all is the results obtained by the students. Having the experience of sub-prefect for almost two years, in which I collaborated very well with all the mayors of Gorj county, regardless of political color, I am convinced that we will find solutions to solve all the problems that may arise between the collaboration between the mayor’s office and the schools within the respective localities. I saw from the media and from what I understood from my colleagues that there were some open conflicts in some localities. In the immediate future I will try to mediate and resolve these conflicts.
