Tragedy on the Bucharest – Pitesti highway. A driver lost his life after driving his car into the metal slide between the directions of travel

Tragedy, last night, on the Bucharest – Pitesti highway, at kilometer 82, heading towards Pitesti.

A 38-year-old driver, from Argeş, lost his life after driving his car into the metal slide between the directions of travel.

“From the preliminary checks carried out by the police officers of the A1 Bucharest-Râmnicu Vâlcea Highway Police Bureau, it was determined that a car, with the direction of travel towards Pitesti, driven by a 38-year-old man, from Argeş County, in circumstances to be determined from investigations, he lost control over the direction of travel and collided with the metal slide”, stated the Argeş Police.

Along with crews from ISU Argeş, a special vehicle from ISU Dâmboviţa was sent to the scene.

“The crews that arrived at the scene of the intervention found that there was an incarcerated person inside the car. The firefighters carried out maneuvers to extricate the victim, for whom, unfortunately, despite their efforts, they could not do anything,” said ISU Argeş.

The driver was alone in the car, rescuers say.

A criminal case for manslaughter has been opened and investigations are continuing to establish exactly what caused this misfortune.
