Dolj County Council will rehabilitate the headquarters of the School Center for Inclusive Education “St. Vasile” Craiova

On the agenda of the monthly meeting of the County Council (CJ) Dolj, on Thursday, April 25, there is also a draft Decision, regarding the modernization of the building of the School Center for Inclusive Education “St. Vasile” Craiova. Thus, the technical – economic documentation – DALI phase (Documentation for Approval of Intervention Works) is to be approved.

With this project, the county administration wants to increase the energy efficiency of buildings and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. “Through the investment objective “Rehabilitation and modernization of the public buildings where the School Center for Inclusive Education is located “Sf. Vasile” Craiova, buildings located in the street Dr. Dimitrie Gerota, no. 3, Craiova, Dolj county”, the Dolj County Council proposes to increase the energy efficiency of the public buildings where the headquarters of the School Center for Inclusive Education “Sf. Vasile” Craiova, buildings located in the street Dr. Dimitrie Gerota, no. 3, Craiova, Dolj County, by implementing deep energy rehabilitation measures, aimed at reducing energy losses and consumption, as well as introducing energy production systems from renewable sources, with a positive impact on the environment and the quality of life of end users, contributing at the same time to the efficiency of public spending”it is specified in the draft Decision of the Dolj County Council.

Brief history of the building

The headquarters is located on “Dimitrie Gerota” street, no. 3, being put into use in two stages in 1970 and 1976. Starting from September 10, 1998, the institution was included in the network of higher education units in Dolj County, approved by the Board of Administration of the Dolj County School Inspectorate under the name Sfântul School for the Hearing Impaired Basil. MECTS Order 6565/2011 changes its name to the “Sf. Vasile”, and, starting from 05.03.2019, based on art. 6 of OMECTS 6564/2 regarding the approval of the Procedure for assigning the names of educational units in the national pre-university education system, based on the provisions of art. 91 para. (1) lit. f) and art. 97 of law 215/2001 by the local public administration republished, with subsequent amendments and additions, operates under the name of the School Center for Inclusive Education “St. Basil”. Here, they are schooled young people with severe, severe and associated hearing impairments. They come from several counties of the country, registered on the basis of the School and Professional Orientation Certificates issued by the specialized commissions of the County Educational Resource and Assistance Centers. They mostly come from families with a medium and poor intellectual, social and financial condition, and some of them are beneficiaries of the social protection system, being the case during the vacation in the Placement Centers of DJASPC Dolj.

What does the project include?

The project will include the following stages: elimination of the degradations present at the level of the facades, the roof; ensuring the necessary useful space and its operation according to the assigned function; protecting the construction elements of the building; improving the period of exploitation of the building; improving the energy efficiency of the objective through thermal insulation works of the building; installation of effective carpentry to current standards; pleasant external aesthetic appearance; creating an appropriate microclimate for school activities. The buildings that will be rehabilitated are the Kindergarten, the Boarding School, the Administrative Pavilion and the Canteen. The total value of the investment objective is 28,561,985.00 lei, without VAT.
