From Saturday to Sunday (April 20-21), in the Gârboavele Forest, no less than 22 teams from all over the country ran, in total, thousands of kilometers, in support of the same common creed, in an event that gathered, in -a huge collective effort, all the hopes that can change the impossible into the possible for the future of people with autism.

The Galați Ultramarathon, now in its fourth edition, was the most recent success of the Galați Support Association for Parents and Children with Autism (APCA). An association that – as you could find out from the interview given to “Vieții libere” by Nicoleta Lupoae, APCA president – started from dry stone, from cardboard cutouts and came one step closer to fulfilling the ultimate dream: the construction in Galati of the first center of excellence in autism recovery.

“In an increasingly “gray” world, among all the problems we struggle with every day, over a thousand beautiful hearts beat in unison, in the rhythm of good deeds, in support of children and young people with autism from APCA Galati, time of 24 hours, in a unique event for Romania, “Galați Ultramarathon”, reached its 4th edition. The rivals of the 24-hour team race were joined by other runners, with or without experience, registered for the other races: «24h Individual», «Challenge of the Champions – 50 km», «Cross Country – 10 km», «People’s Race – 3 km», so the event reached its 4th edition really managed to «explode» “, but also to illuminate, more and more strongly, in the lights of HOPE, the main goal from which this dream started four years ago: the construction of the first center of excellence in the recovery of autism in Galați, the “House with Super Heroes”, we said Nicoleta Lupoae.

According to it, very important firsts related to the 24 hours dedicated to the same hope were marked, from a music ultramarathon held at the starting line, in the Garboavele Forest, to another extraordinary example of will and involvement, of to the 12 daredevils who, led by Valerică Rîmbu, rowed the Danube, for the third consecutive year, simultaneously with the runners from Gârboavele.

“”Galați Ultramarathon” is the most daring and perhaps the most heartfelt project for an entire community, which demonstrates in an exceptional way the power of “TOGETHER we are stronger”, a project that started from a handful of people, six in number, known today as “SuperTeam Galați”, people like everyone else, from different fields, who chose to fight on a piece of the world to change tens, hundreds and thousands of destinies for the better , slowly and surely, hundreds and thousands of runners in the four editions, including the dwarfs from the Children’s Run, those who will build the future, dozens of partners, local authorities, local media, hundreds of volunteers and so, so many beautiful souls” , Nicoleta Lupoae also said.
