Popescu Piedone entered the race for the general mayor elections of Bucharest. He is on the electoral campaign and has released the bag of promises straight from the street.

At a modest table, a dialogue takes place in which candidate Piedone promises a Bucharest woman “a parking space under your window”. The name of the street, the neighborhood does not appear in the dialogue. Moreover, the lady wants to pay for the spot, but Piedone is only determined to offer the woman “a parking space under the window.”

Piedone is running on behalf of Dan Voiculescu’s party after he was mayor of sector 5. His son, Vlad Popescu, is running for sector 5.

Newsweek wrote that Piedone put his estate in the name of his mother-in-law, the fortune in the name of his children, and the mayor’s office gave it to his grandchildren. Piedone also wanted to give a contract of 1,000,000,000 lei for pansies.

The mayor of sector 5, Popescu Piedone claims to be poor, although he has 5 vintage cars, 4 plots of land and the villa in his mother-in-law’s name. His son is a millionaire. Piedone is running for mayor of Bucharest. His son – now an MP – is a millionaire at 34.

Piedone left all his vintage cars to his son. Vlad Piedone has no less than 6 vintage cars to his name: two Cadillac Devilles, one from 1968 and another from 1974, Cadillac Eldorado from 1974, Oldsmobile from 1959, Mercedes 200 from 1966 and a BMW from 1985. All these cars have previously owned either by Piedone or by other of his interlocutors.
