Tragi-comic situation in the Turcinești commune, where the local authorities believe they are one step away from making a village look WOW, while the locals note with astonishment that after the trenches were concreted and the drains were made -they found that many properties were left without an access road from the communal road.
A few days ago, Dumitru Modrea was publicly bragging about the investments in the village of Rugi and how this village will end up looking WOW, but especially how it will convince the citizens that everything will be solved someday even though the reality is different.
“The village of Rugi is a very beautiful village, under development, with many guesthouses. The people who don’t believe me come to me at the town hall and I personally go with them to the County Council and show them the approved and auctioned projects. Development won’t just mean sidewalks, gutters and driveways, I want this community to WOW. The works have started on the roads and sidewalks from Cartiu to Horezu, an investment of several million lei that will be ready at the end of the year”, said Dumitru Modrea on Radio Infinit.
The reality on the ground is completely different, and the villagers from the Rugi-Horezu-Cartiu area know it best and feel it on their own skin.
“The situation is completely different in Mr. Modrea’s WOW commune. The drains and ditches were made, but they forgot to make the crossings to the properties. They saw that when they completed it and are now trying to improvise something. My neighbors were amazed when they saw that they had no access to properties on the road sector between Rugi and Horezu. This road has been asphalted for 3 years, I think, but from what I understand from the town hall, the reception was not done. The Cartiu-Horezu road was uncovered and left like that. There are some machines and materials around that area, which seem rather to be abandoned, but also about this road there is talk in the town hall that the company would no longer come to complete it. So I don’t know what is so WOW. It’s more like woe to us”, says a local from Turcinești.
