Throughout yesterday, military firefighters were on duty to handle all requests for support received from the public. In this sense, operative crews promptly intervened in 10 emergency situations recorded in the county.

Thus, in the last 24 hours, the fire crews carried out actions to locate and liquidate those 4 fires, 3 among them being caused by chimneys not cleaned of soot and by the storage of ash and unextinguished embers near combustible materials, in the municipalities of Toplița and Gheorgheni.

On Tuesday, April 02, the military firefighters from the Miercurea Ciuc Detachment in cooperation with SVSU Sânmartin and Sâncraieni intervened with four fire trucks with water and foam, to locate and extinguish a fire that broke out at a residential house, in the town of Sâncraieni. When the intervention forces arrived at the requested place, the fire was widespread on the roof of the house, on about 40 square meters, with the risk of spreading to the whole house and a neighboring house. Following the event, the probable cause of which was a short circuit caused by defective electrical conductors, they burned the roof of the house on an area of ​​approximately 50 square meters; the walls, ceiling and furniture of the attic were damaged, a clothes dryer, the parquet, 5 windows and interior doors, material damage estimated at approximately 100,000 lei.

Also, efforts were also focused on actions aimed at protecting local communities, rescuers acting promptly to remove the effects of dangerous meteorological phenomena:

– clearance of a fallen tree on DJ 138, in the town of Șicasău (civilian firefighters from SVSU Suseni intervened)

– clearance of three fallen trees on the electric wires of a street pole, from Ciucsângeorgiu commune (civilian firefighters from SVSU Ciucsângeorgiu intervened);

– clearance of a fir tree fallen on a block, without material damage, on Revoluție din Decembrie street, in the municipality of Miercurea Ciuc (military firefighters from the Miercurea Ciuc Detachment intervened);

– clearance of a fallen tree on DN 13B, Vf. Bucin, SVSU Suseni intervened to clear it.

Simultaneously with these types of interventions, during yesterday, there were 4 requests for first aid, after which the SMURD crews provided medical assistance to 4 people in difficulty.
