On April 3, 2024, the policemen of the Cluj Organized Crime Brigade, together with the prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Cluj Territorial Service, carried out 7 house searches, in the counties of Mureș, Bistrița Năsăud and Cluj, in – a criminal case regarding the commission of the crimes of human trafficking, in continuous form and pimping.

According to IPJ Cluj, a man used the “Loverboy” method to rape a woman.

She was forced into prostitution in Germany.

“On April 3, 2024, the policemen of the Cluj Organized Crime Brigade, together with the prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Cluj Territorial Service, carry out 7 house searches, in the counties of Mureș, Bistrița Năsăud and Cluj, in – a criminal case regarding the commission of the crimes of human trafficking, in continuous form and pimping.

From the research carried out, it emerged that, during 2020, an investigated person would have recruited an injured person, simulating a love relationship, and, until March 2024, at different time intervals and on the basis of the same criminal resolution, taking advantage of the obvious state of vulnerability in which the victim was, would have transported and sheltered her in different locations, on the territory of Germany, forcing her to practice prostitution.

The sums of money obtained from the criminal activity would have been appropriated by him.

Also, in the period 2022 – 2024, another person would have obtained sums of money resulting from the sexual exploitation of the same injured persons, as a result of the support given in ensuring the transport and transfer of the sums of money obtained by the victim.

The hearings will be held at the headquarters of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Cluj Territorial Service.

Specialized support was provided by the Special Operations Directorate of the Romanian Police.

The action benefits from the support of gendarmes from the Mureș Gendarmerie Mobile Group and the Cluj County Gendarmerie Inspectorate.

We make it clear that, during the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Code of Criminal Procedure, as well as the presumption of innocence”, the representatives of the Cluj County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) sent.
