The main opponent remains Piedone. I expect PNL sympathizers to vote for me

“Cristian Popescu Piedone and Gabriela Firea share the same electoral pool. In my opinion, (…) Cristian Popescu Piedone remains the main opponent. In any of the options, whether he retires (Cristian Popes u Piedone – no), or whether he remains in the race, it is very important to inform people about what happened in those years and it is very, very important to mobilize, because they are relatively equal – PSD and anti-PSD. Those who come to vote more will win,” says Nicuşor Dan.

He states that he will not attack the PNL and the candidate Sebastian Burduja in the perspective of a further collaboration with the liberals.

“I really want the PNL to participate in the majority we will create. I don’t think it’s productive to tell each other things that will obviously stick. (…) In all these three and a half years, but especially now, in the perspective of the elections, my relationship with the PNL public was very important. I worked, through everything I did, to satisfy their expectations. I’m not going to attack the PNL and Sebastian Burduja in this campaign”, adds the general mayor.

Also, Nicusor Dan states that he expects many of the PNL sympathizers to vote for him at the Capital City Hall.

“In the current context, the party has a candidate and the people who lead this party will support this candidate, but for the people, the PNL sympathizers in Bucharest, given that we have learned what elections mean in a single round, I expect that many of the people who vote PNL should vote for me, even if they think that Sebastian Burduja is better. (…) I have always maintained that democratic elections are in two rounds”, mentions Dan.

Asked if there is a plan, as is customary, he said: “If there is a plan, no one told me.”

Nicusor Dan is running independently for the Capital City Hall, supported by the United Right Alliance, formed by USR, PMP and Forţa Dreptei.
