The Iași handball teams are, once again, at rest, the last internal echelons being interrupted for a long time, a fashion that often caught on during the current season.
The Politehnica men’s team stayed last week and will play the last official match of the season on April 13, in Pitesti. The match will not have any stake, the team coached by Florin Spiridon being sure that it will be in the first place of the last value group of the A Division.
As for the CSM Iasi 2020 women’s team, which played on March 24 for the last time, it will play another match precisely on April 21 in the last stage of the regular season. The formation coached by Daniel Gheorghe will face the modest local team CSM in Bacău. The victory, imminent, will initial the ranking of Iași in first place in Series B of Division A, a position that generates a perfect corridor for promotion.
In the decisive tournament for the accession to the National League, where eight teams will participate, who will play in the knockout stage, CSM 2020 will face a modest team, CSU Cluj-Napoca in the first phase. If they pass Cluj, which is almost certain, Iași will fight for direct promotion with another accessible team. According to all probabilities, this will be the winner of the match between Activ Ploiesti and CSM Slobozia, who have a good chance of occupying the second and third places in Serie A.
