A fatal road accident took place today between the localities of 2 Mai and Vama Veche.
According to the statements of Dr. Claudia Tatarici, spokesperson of the Constanța County Ambulance Service (SAJ), two ambulances and a SMURD ambulance were mobilized to the scene of the incident following a call received during the morning.
At the scene, the intervention teams discovered two patients with major polytrauma, both in critical condition. The victims were initially transported to Mangalia Hospital. Unfortunately, one of the patients suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest during the transfer to the County Hospital and, despite resuscitation efforts by the EMS crew, he was pronounced dead. He was only 27 years old.
“The second patient, still in critical condition, required the additional intervention of a SMURD crew with a doctor to be transported to Constanța County Hospital,” said Dr. Claudia Tatarici.
He had an upper limb amputated, he is in a comatose state.
Authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact cause of the accident.
