13 more hybrid minibuses for schools in Sibiu county. It was also decided how they will be allocated

--

The President of the Sibiu County Council, Daniela Cîmpean, signed the 15 million lei financing contract with the Environmental Fund Administration for the purchase of 13 more school minibuses for schools in Sibiu County.

These will be added to the 56 electric school minibuses already obtained by CJ Sibiu from the non-reimbursable funds managed by the Ministry of Education through PNRR, and for which the contract signing procedure for the purchase of 8 + 1 seat minibuses is currently underway, and for the 16+1 seats, we estimate that the procedure will be completed in about a month.

“Children’s safety, less carbon emissions, but also reduced long-term costs are just some of the benefits of new generation minibuses. Whether we are talking about hybrid or electric minibuses, they will contribute to the transition to a cleaner, greener and healthier environment. In addition, through this new opportunity we will be able to fill the need for school transport for even more communities, and thus, I hope, we will have as few children as possible who will drop out of school. So, to the almost 36 million lei, obtained through PNRR, another 15 million is added through AFM for the purchase of minibuses for schools in Sibiu county”, said Daniela Cîmpean, president of the Sibiu County Council.

The minibuses to be purchased by the Sibiu County Council will be allocated to schools in the county depending on the number of students and the distance they have to travel from home to the educational unit.
