Mandric Detailing means professionalism and passion for cars. For almost 14 years, Mihai Mandric from Sibiu has opened a workshop where cars are brought back to life through services for restoring the skin inside the car, sanitizing, deep cleaning, but also protective treatments for the interior.
I visited the Mandric Detailing workshop on Ogorului Street, number 30, and told Mihai about the main services they offer.
The services offered at Mandric Detailing are not limited to simple cleaning. Together with his team, the Sibiian aims to bring old and used cars back to life, focusing on every detail, be it the leather-finished interior or the exterior.
“The need for such a service becomes apparent when we consider how a well-maintained car retains its value over time. A car that is maintained both inside and out is not only a functional vehicle, but also a sustainable investment.
We also do leather replacement, we also do leather restoration, but we also deal with assembly and disassembly, there are several services included in one workshop. There are detailing services, cosmetics, sanitation, deep cleaning services, in the smallest detail, as much as the materials and machines that reach us allow us. There is also the correction part of the varnish, i.e. the polishes, the ceramic treatments, we also have the self-regenerating ceramic treatments for which you must be accredited to get them”, Mihai told Turnul Sfatului.
By carefully caring for the interior leather elements, owners can keep their cars in pristine condition, which translates into a higher resale value.
“People are spending more and more time in their cars, whether it’s the daily commute to work or leisure travel, the importance of a clean and hygienic environment inside the car is becoming more and more apparent. A clean interior is not only a pleasure, but also a crucial aspect of users’ health and well-being,” he added.
From a necessity to a business
Mihai says that he started the business about 14 years ago, when such services were not yet developed on the Sibiu market. From a need to a business idea was just one step.
“From 2009-2010 we started. The idea somehow came from a need, from a lack that we were aware of. It was an open area in the sense that most people wanted their cars clean, but there were only car washes, where you went and there was a boy who washed all the cars with the same cloth. Now things have changed a lot, the field and industry of car detailing have really evolved”, he said.
Personalized services according to the client’s needs
At Mandric Detailing, services are customized to each client’s requirements and preferences, and this is demonstrated through a dedication to perfection and a passion for beauty. New cars are maintained and protected, and worn or problem ones are brought back to life as close to original as possible.
“Our workshop is not only limited to surface cleaning, but also to the elimination of bacteria and allergens, contributing to the creation of a safe and healthy environment. Every car that enters a workshop is treated with respect and attention, because each car is considered special in its own way by the owner, from luxury cars to classic cars, from sports cars to family cars, or even motorcycles , each vehicle has its own unique characteristics and needs”, Mihai also told.
Tips for car owners
In such a workshop the most important thing is to like what you do and enjoy the final result that comes out of your hands.
“We are looking to expand. You must have grown to love physical work and attention to detail because if you don’t like this job and love cars you can’t work in the workshop, it’s not just a job you go to, work 8 hours and you’re done . If you don’t like what you do and you don’t love cars, you can’t enjoy the finished product”, Mihai said.
Mihai’s advice for drivers is to have their car professionally cleaned at least once a year.
“I would advise them to come and clean their cars at least once a year. The car is our image in public, how we try to dress nice, look nice, take care of ourselves, the car is exactly our image in society, in public, in traffic, everywhere. You need to stay in an environment that is clean and comfortable for you as a person. I recommend cleaning at least once a year because we live in a country where there is a lot of dust. Of course it depends on what car you have, it depends on what materials the car has. If there are leather materials on the inside, for example, the leather must be hydrated, and then it would be recommended twice a year to do the hydration,” he added.
“Each car is special”
Mihai says that each individual car is special and that there are also some more special situations, which give him increased satisfaction when they are solved.
“The most difficult thing is with customers who buy their new cars and bring them to us, who don’t know the cars and don’t know what problems they have. By the time they come to us and we show them the problems, either upon discovery or while the work is being done, customers don’t know about the problems they have and discover things hidden by previous vendors.
Each individual car is special and you have to take care of it respecting the materials it has. It is special for the owner who has it, regardless of whether it is a cheap car, for 5,000 euros or an expensive car, for 100,000 euros”, concluded Mihai.
