“Abilities for action”, national drug use prevention project, implemented at the level of Vrancea county

PRESS RELEASE:

The specialists of the Anti-Drug Prevention Evaluation and Counseling Center (CPECA) Vrancea are implementing, at the county level, the national drug prevention project “Skills for action”. The project, which is aimed at high school students and is based on the program Lions Quest – a socio-emotional learning program is taking place, this school year, at the National College Al. Ioan Cuza”, “Mihail Kogălniceanu” Economic College and “Edmond Nicolau” Technical College from Vrancea county.

SKILLS FOR ACTION takes a comprehensive approach to drug prevention, fostering student protective factors by developing a strong connection with school, involving parents in children’s lives, and acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to make healthy decisions when under pressure to use substances. Through social and emotional learningchildren and adults acquire and apply knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set goals, develop empathy for others, form constructive relationships and make responsible decisions.
