A Gorjean resident notified the police after unknown persons stole the engine of a car from his yard. The thieves, a man and a woman from the municipality of Târgu Jiu, were quickly spotted by the law enforcement officers.
“On April 1 this year, police officers from the Târgu Jiu Municipality Police were alerted by a 49-year-old man from Săcelu commune, about the fact that, on March 9 this year, unknown persons stole a car engine, from the inner yard of the building, located on a street in the municipality, causing damage in the amount of 5,000 lei. In the case, a criminal file was drawn up, the investigations being continued in order to identify the persons responsible and to recover the damage. Following the investigations carried out by police officers from the Criminal Investigation Bureau, a 38-year-old man, suspected of committing the crime of theft, and a 32-year-old woman, who allegedly participated in the theft, were identified, both from the municipality of Târgu Jiu . In relation to them, further criminal investigation was ordered, and the man was detained for a period of 24 hours and placed in the custody of IPJ Gorj”, announced the spokesperson of IPJ Gorj.
