The case of the young Alexandra Ivanov, days pregnant dead at the maternity hospital in Botoșani, seems to be repeating itself, this time at the Bacău County Hospital. The incident happened two weeks ago. Maria, a 38-year-old woman, four months pregnant following an in vitro fertilization procedure, arrived at Bacău County Hospital with severe abdominal pain, fever, chills and headache.

There it was found that the pregnancy had stopped developing, but about 12 hours passed until they took her to the operating room, during which her health deteriorated, writes Digi 24.

The doctors explained to the woman’s life partner that the intervention was not required according to the procedure and a certain period of time had to pass. And they also suspected that he had other health problems, abdominal problems that caused him these ailments.

During the intervention, the cholecyst was removed, because it was found to be inflamed, and the pregnancy was discharged by itself.

After the intervention, which lasted about an hour and a half, the woman was taken to the intensive care unit in a very serious condition, say the doctors, who expected an unfavorable evolution and, just a few hours away, she had a cardiorespiratory arrest, was resuscitated, but a second cardiorespiratory arrest followed, from which she never recovered.

Aurelia Țaga, the medical director of the Bacău County Emergency Hospital, told Digi24 that the patient was taken over by specialists from the first moment of presentation in the department and was monitored the whole time.

“Currently, the case is under criminal investigation carried out by the Bacău Police. Forensic medicine performed the necropsy and issued a preliminary death certificate, and samples were collected that are being processed at Iași forensic medicine.

For now, we do not have a cause for this fulminant evolution towards the seriousness of the patient. The patient was taken over by specialists from the first moment of presentation in our wards and she was monitored all the time, therapeutic interventions were made depending on the patient’s condition. “I’m Ivanov Alexandra. Do you think you can do the curettage for me tonight because I can’t stand the pain anymore! Please from the bottom of my heart I feel like I’m going crazy” – message left unanswered.

In the last message, sent to time 06:40 to the husband, the woman wrote: “I can’t anymore”
