Cities in the country where you can quickly find work

The latest data from an online employment platform in Romania shows that since the beginning of the year, 75,000 new jobs have been posted. Although the number may seem high, learn that it is 10% less than the same period of the previous year.

Almost a third of the positions that have been published on the platform belong to employers in areas such as retail services, call centers, BPO, the food industry or construction. However, it has been observed that demands for the tourism sector have skyrocketed in the last month.

It was also noticed that there is an interest of employers from abroad for Romanian employees. At the same time, there were employers who removed the facilities for candidates from the job description.

“Tourism is a sector that has grown rapidly in the ranking in the last month, since recruitment for the warm season began. We see here not only more jobs posted by employers in Romania, but also by those abroad. An indicator that was followed with interest by everyone in the first quarter was the evolution of the number of jobs in construction and the food industry, after the facilities that employers in these sectors had were removed at the end of last year.

There were, at that time, prospects for a decrease in the number of new jobs, but the figures for the first three months show us that we are still talking about two industries that have large volumes of employment. Together, they brought more than 15,000 jobs to the market,” says Bogdan Badea, CEO of the eJOBs.ro platform

Employers insist on office work, but remote work is more sought after

The statistics also show that a percentage of 8.7% of the jobs put up for “competition” are part of the remote category, i.e. only from home, 4.2% were for abroad, and 87.1% are part of the category of only from the office.

This while the candidates showed more interest in a service that they can do from home, because they consider that they have more flexibility. A percentage of 13.2% of the total number of applications were for remote positions, and less than 2% for cross-border.

Also, the most active candidates were young people. More precisely, people between the ages of 25 and 35 were ranked first, followed by young people between the ages of 18 and 24 and in third place are those aged 36-45. Romanians in the over 45 segment applied the least.

As for the areas where employees are often sought, they are: Bucharest, Ilfov, Cluj, Iasi, Timiș and Brașov. Capital, however, holds the record for the highest number of jobs posted on the indicated platform. At the opposite pole, companies recruited the least from the counties: Neamț, Ialomița, Argeş and Brăila.
