The PSD believes that an automatic mechanism must be defined for the annual increase of the minimum wage in Romania, in a predictable manner, which guarantees the increase in the standard of living and the purchasing power for all employees in Romania, according to the press release of the formation.

The minimum wage will increase to 3,700 lei

According to the cited source, the increase in the minimum wage to 3,700 lei, announced by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu for July 1, 2024, will raise wage incomes to the appropriate level for the introduction of the automatic wage increase mechanism, according to the provisions of the European Directive.

PSD believes that any positive effect in the economy must also be reflected in the salary incomes of the citizens.

“The introduction of the European minimum wage will be an important benefit especially for employees in the private sector, where there is the largest number of employees employed with this minimum wage level”, concludes the mentioned source.
