The people of Bihor were woken up on Tuesday morning, at 06.30, by a Ro-Alert message, warning them to avoid travel because “strong intensification of the wind” is coming.
“Weather warning – STRONG INTENSIFICATION OF WINDS, which will exceed 80-85 km/h, Period of manifestation 02.04.2024, between 06:35 – 09:00. Avoid travel and take shelter and self-protection measures!”, is the message sent by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
The Ro-Alert information was sent as a result of a code orange wind and gale warning issued by the National Meteorological Administration.
And after this period of time, the entire county of Bihor will be under a yellow code for wind and storms, issued by the National Meteorological Administration. The yellow code is valid until Tuesday evening at 10 p.m.
Bihor firemen advise citizens not to move near trees, billboards or buildings under construction or that have architectural elements that can be torn away by gusts, during the manifestation of strong winds, and to limit the possible damage generated by strong winds, vehicles must be parked in safe areas, at a safe distance from trees or electricity poles.
