Local deputy Renato de Vicente (PSD) was attacked while walking on the sidewalk by a horse harnessed to a carriage, tied to a tree, in downtown São Manoel do Paraná, northwestern Paraná state.

The footage shows the politician greeting a woman as he is attacked as he walks past the stallion.

“He bit me and pulled me, and that made it worse. It was a very big and intense pain”, said the victim.
According to the MP, the bite caused wounds on his chest and he had to be taken to the municipal hospital. He was vaccinated against rabies and to avoid possible infections.
The owner of the animal, who was in a bar, was identified and fined. The horse is being monitored by a municipal health team. The case was registered with the city’s Military Police.
If the attack had happened to a child or someone more fragile, it could have been worse. It was a scare and a lesson for everyone.”
