“Totally in the hole in terms of economic efficiency”

Local councilor Roxana Iliescu highlights the failure of the cemetery section within Horticultura SA, a company subordinate to Timișoara City Hall, which takes care of the Calea Șagului and Rusu Şirianu cemeteries, is, according to the Pro Romania councilor, “completely in a hole in terms of economic efficiency”.

“The economic report on the income and expenses since the establishment of this section, September 2023 and until January 2024, sent by the economic department to the members of the Board of Directors, shows what was predictable from the moment of the debate on the draft resolution strongly supported by mayor Fritz and vice Lațcau, namely the fact that the company’s income is much lower than its expenses.

They lied, in their characteristic style, in official documents! We have supported since August 17, 2023 the fact that both the opportunity study, the specifications and the related contract that will be concluded with Horticultura SA, are based on estimates of revenues that Horticultura SA cannot obtain!”, Roxana said Iliescu.

The local councilor studied the economic report from which it appears that, between September 2023 and January 2024, there were total revenues of 354,979 lei, while expenses amounted to 908,452 lei, i.e. a loss of 553,472 lei.

“As a separate fact, the expenses with the new staff employed by the users in this department in the period above, are worth 511,786 lei, much higher than the total incomes achieved in the same period!”, says Iliescu.

The councilor accuses that the USR administration lied in the official documents put to the vote in the plenary of the local council, when the transfer of the two cemeteries to the management of Horticultura was voted, being estimated “inflated and totally unrealistic revenues”, while the minimum reported expenses amount to to “1,868,340 lei, an amount to which will be added the payment of the salaries of at least 14 employees for security or the contract with the security company. In conclusion, in reality, the company did not achieve even in a single month the minimum revenues estimated by the incompetents from the USR!”.
