Border police officers from the Sculeni Border Crossing Point are investigating a citizen from Mexico, who presented a driver’s license not recognized by the Romanian state at the border control.

On March 31, at around 11:25 a.m., at the Sculeni Border Crossing Point – ITPF Iași, a 47-year-old citizen from Mexico, driving a registered car, presented himself to carry out the control formalities necessary to cross the border in Romania.

The man presented to the control a driver’s license issued by the Mexican authorities, with his data and photo printed on it, a document that is not recognized by the Romanian state.

Specific checks were carried out, after which it was concluded that the man does not have an international driving license.

The border police are investigating the case under the aspect of committing the crime of driving a motor vehicle on public roads by a person who does not have the right to drive motor vehicles in Romania. Upon completion of the investigations, the necessary legal measures will be taken.
