On April 29, 2024, around 2:50 a.m., while a police crew was operating within the radius of the city of Cajvana, on DJ 178D, in the area of ​​the “La Câmp” peco station, heading towards the village of Soloneț – Cajvana (center), the police officers observed a car traveling in the opposite direction, traveling at high speed. After that car passed the police special car, due to excessive speed, it lost control of the car and entered the opposite direction of traffic, stopping on the opposite direction of traffic facing Cajvana (center), in front of the peco station, “In the field”.

Gheorghe P. was identified behind the wheel of the car, and on the right side in the passenger seat was an individual from Cajvana.

The car had damage to the left rear wheel, and the airbags on the left side of the car were deployed.

Since the driver was clearly intoxicated, emanating alcoholic breath, the driver was tested with the breathalyzer device, resulting in a value of 0.63 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. He was taken to the Rădăuți Municipal Hospital, for the collection of biological blood samples in order to determine the blood alcohol level.

In the case, a criminal case was drawn up for the offense of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or other substances.

At the same time, the driver was fined according to GEO 195/2002 R regarding the failure to adapt the speed to the road conditions.
