The policemen from Teleorman fired shots to stop a bulldozer whose driver tried to hit them and enter the police cars. The vehicle was abandoned in a field, and the person driving it is being sought by the police.

UPDATE – “At this moment, the man presented himself at the headquarters of the Alexandria Municipality Police (57-year-old man from Alexandria). He was tested with the alcohol test and drug test machines, the results indicating that he is not under the influence of alcohol/prohibited substances. In the future, the police are conducting investigations to establish the entire criminal activity, and the man will be questioned,” IPJ Teleorman said.

INITIAL NEWS – The representatives of the Police Inspectorate of Teleorman County announced that the police in Alexandria were alerted on Sunday evening, by a man from the locality, regarding the fact that a person chaotically driving a bulldozer destroyed his pea crops.

“A public safety patrol was dispatched to the scene, the police officers making a legal stop signal, but the driver of the vehicle did not comply, continuing his movement on the bypass of the city and in the extra-village area. In the context described above, it was followed, in order to stop it, but the driver of the bulldozer would have tried, repeatedly, to hit the special vehicles and the policemen, at which point they used the weapons provided, towards the tires of the vehicle, without the driver to stop”, said the policemen.

They added that the person in question drove the backhoe into rough terrain that no longer allowed pursuit. The vehicle was found abandoned in the field.

Police in Alexandria are investigating to identify and catch the person in question.

They opened a criminal case for committing the crime of destruction.
