Man from Alba, investigated by the police from Hunedoara: Selling counterfeit products in the premises of a weekly fair in the neighboring county

A man from Alba chose to file a criminal case after he was found to be selling counterfeit products in the premises of a weekly fair in Hunedoara county.

On March 31, 2024, the policemen of the Hunedoara Economic Crime Investigation Service carried out an unexpected control on the line of combating counterfeiting of products, in the premises of a weekly fair in Hunedoara county, where there were, exposed for sale, articles of clothing, footwear, bags and perfumes bearing the insignia of well-known brands, susceptible to counterfeiting.

The person selling the respective products, a 51-year-old man from Alba county, verbally reported that the products are not stolen, they were purchased from a commercial complex, but he is aware of the fact that they are counterfeit and had the intention of sold to interested persons for amounts of approximately 80 lei/piece, in the case of footwear and sports equipment products, and 30 lei/piece, in the case of perfumes.

As part of the action, the policemen picked up, in order to continue the investigations, 101 perfumes, 14 sports clothes, 39 pairs of sports shoes and 21 bags.

In the case, the police have drawn up a criminal file under the aspect of committing the offense of putting into circulation a product bearing an identical or similar trademark to a registered trademark for identical or similar products.
